I feel that this article relates well to my topic of philanthropic events because the celebrities talked about were hosting a televised concert in which viewers can call and make donations, with a goal of raising money to help those affected by the earthquake in Haiti. Actor, George Clooney, along with many other well know artists organized this event after they saw the destruction and devastation the earthquake brought, not only to Haiti, but around the world. The earthquake may have only directly affected Haiti, but people all over the country, including the performers at this concert, wanted to do everything they could to help. I find that this article relates to my major because it talks about the many aspects of how a few people can get together and put on an event in an effort to make a difference in the world.
