This is a scholarly article that talks about how the rivers in Puerto Rico are being dammed and is having negatively ecological effects on them. Construction is ruining the waters and causing native mammals to go somewhere else. This article talks about the problems, solutions, and alternatives of damming Puerto Rican waters and I think it will be a good addition to your notes.
